The provision of adequate architectural support for the construction of complex control systems is critical. The Integrated Control Architecture is an effort in that direction.

The Integrated Control Architecture (ICa) Project is a long-term effort in the development of technology and guidelines for the construction of large-scale, modular, complex, distributed controllers.

The main technological results so far are the ICa ORB and the ICa CCF. Those are -respectively- an OMG CORBA-compliant real-time object request broker and a LwCCM-based component framework.
